If you have given a happy forever home to an RD4L fur baby, please send us your photos and videos, along with your story. We will publish it here to show just how much joy can be found in adopting a rescued dog
Briefly known as Sadie, Ula the German Shepherd suffered for seven long years at the hands of a mean, cruel and thoughtless family, who underfed her, taunted her, bullied her and totally neglected her.
Finally, as a last cruelty, they handed her over to be destroyed as they no longer wanted to be bothered with her at all.
RescuedDogs4Life campaigned to raise enough money to get Ula into Foster Care, then to have her spayed, passported and vaccinated. She travelled to the UK
She is soon to be permanently indicted into the Horse and Groom team of Huge Hairy Dogs. Thanks to RD4L, Ula will spend the Autumn and Winter of her life in safety, comfort and happiness.
Welcome home, Ula!
I had a Very Thorough homecheck with Tinx who was very much a 'doggy social worker' and reviewed every aspect of our home lives, from when I would be at home, to where puppy was going to sleep and most importantly, how my two boys were going to react to having a doggy in the house... After a long thorough chat and a lot of suggestions/pointers, we were allowed to have our doggy!
I picked Shadow because she had the most white in her from her brothers and sisters.Carol is one of the only rescues I could find that will house with young children, which I think is BARMY because I don't want an unknown older dog until my children grow up and we have such a hectic life. When we went to get Shadow, she was calm and sweet and in an obviously loving rescue home. She was well cared for (despite eating for Britain) and very affectionate. She obviously had lots of time with people at the rescue house which is awesome, just what you want.
We were told what she likes, doesn't like, what food to give her, she was microchipped and checked.
I got her back to Salisbury and to my vet, he checked her over again and she is in perfect health, just a gorgeous little puppy to add to our mad family!
I couldn't be happier with her, she’s utterly gorgeous! Thank you Carol and team for a marvellous experience.
